On June 30, 2009, the Department of Defense announced the death of a Michigan soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Staff Sgt. Timothy A. David, 28, of Gladwin, Mich., died June 28 in Sadr City, Iraq, of wounds suffered earlier in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.  He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

All of our efforts focus on the support of each other and our children in the military. We support one another in our joys and our sorrows, with a level of understanding that can only be found among other Moms whose children are or have served in the military.
